Job Description

I would like for you to check out our website to gain more insight on our church, our vision, mission, etc. at www.g-c-f.org.

Being trained as a Baptist Pastor and being involved in non-denominational "Charismatic-type" churches for over 30 years, My heart was to develop a church model that was balanced in theology and practice, along with placing priority on what Jesus did (The Great Commandment and The Great Commission). Almost 5 years ago I started the first Grace Christian Fellowship in Melbourne Florida. It has grown to over 200 in attendance and our missionary outreach resulted in 4 indigenous pastors in 4 different nations who felt the call of God to do church planting among their own people. With very little financial resources they have started over 600 new GCF churches in the last 3 years.

The burden in my heart is that we have done little or nothing here in the USA besides what we've done locally in Melbourne, Florida and the Lord has moved on my heart to begin to make something happen. I believe the Lord is directing us to begin and prepare to begin a number of Grace Christian Fellowships in the USA.

The "nuts and bolts" of the plan have three different tracks.

One track would involve someone already fully trained and experienced in the ministry who might already have a church they are pastoring. Their desire is to be a part of a network (not a denomination... they may already be in a denomination that they want to remain a part of) of churches that are willing to seriously make the Great Commandment their vision and the Great Commission their mission. In other words, they sense direction from the Lord to incorporate these two matters into the primary fabric of their church. For example, everything that we do or are considering to do in our church we ask the question, "How does this relate to our vision and mission?" Because we are not necessarily a denomination, every church is free to develop and follow the form of church government, form of worship services, and programs for all ministries in their church as they feel direction from the Lord. But our connection is one of our shared commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.

Along with that, we are committed to at least the same basic fundamental Christian doctrines as outlined on our website and in addition, we share a tithe from our churches to support the worldwide missionary effort. I believe in doing this we will be leaning in the direction to seek to fulfill what I call the Great Call of Jesus in John 17 to "be one as He and the Father are one," I refer to this as the Great Call of Unity without sacrificing any personal convictions.

The second track would involve someone who may have little training or experience in the ministry or for the ministry where they would come here to be a part of our church in Melbourne to experience and learn from us by serving among us for a season. While being here they would follow a formal course of study through a Bible college or university in academic preparation for the ministry along with the on-the-job experience. They would have to find a job to support themselves during this process so they can understand how "to make tents" like the Apostle Paul. Even though our ministry is becoming quite large, I still work a full time job in the community where I am fulfilling my ministry too. When the time is right, we will send this Pastor out to begin a new church with the tools they need to be successful. This may be locally (preferred) or off to wherever God leads them.

When we start new churches locally, there may be several "seed families" that will go with them out of our current congregation to begin the new church plant. The new church they start will also be in the same status as the above situation where they will follow God's directions as to what programming, etc to have.

The third track is somewhat a mixture of the above two. Someone like yourself with formal training and experience may come to be with us for a season in order to what I refer to as be captured by our vision and capture the vision personally and after a time go and plant a new church. I personally prefer the second and third track because it allows the time necessary for me to spend considerable time with new GCF Pastors to impart the vision and the anointing for the work they will do.

In the 30 years of ministry, I have never seen such great potential for what a church and God's people can be. As you know, many Pastors are disappointed and some are disillusioned from the problems, politics, and just plain carnality that goes on in churches today from those who claim to be strong bible-based, Spirit-filled, believers. I too have experienced my share of this and instead of giving up the ministry, I wanted to get God's plan and vision of how to build churches that could be different and be healthy and real for most of the above junk to disappear and a fresh and wonderful "New Testament" like church to appear that could make a difference in these last days for our Lord Jesus Christ!

I hope this provides some insight for you and as I am praying, for the Lord to draw men and women from the north, south, east, and west, to join me in an effort to change our world for Jesus, that the Lord would speak clearly to your heart concerning these matters.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Love, Pastor Paul
