We are seeking an enthusiastic and spiritually mature Worship Leader to effectively lead our congregation in corporate worship with a blended style of music. This leader would have the overall responsibility of recruiting, inspiring and coaching musicians and choir members with the primary goal to enhance the worship experience. With that goal in mind, this leader would establish and lead mid-week practice sessions and would also participate in required weekend worship rehearsal(s). This individual would be expected to participate in the worship planning process and in connection with the Director of Worship, select music and provide arrangements that are appropriate for worship series and themes. Additional responsibilities would include providing budget input, working with CCLI records, researching and evaluating best practices, developing music and worship-related recommendations for the Director of Worship and the Lead Pastor, and providing music for special programs and additional seasonal worship services such as Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Easter.
Skills: Experience as a Worship Leader and a vocalist, with the ability to play at least one instrument. Must have a proven ability to recruit, retain and develop people for volunteer service opportunities within the music ministry program with emphasis on the adult choir and the blended worship services. Excellent team-based leadership abilities (with both paid staff and unpaid servants), outstanding communication and organizational skills, an ability to work with and relate with all ages, and the personal affirmation of a commitment to align the music ministry with the mission, vision, and the foundational theology of our church are crucial.
Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in related field and paid staff experience in large church setting. Proven track record of successful recruitment/equipping/training of unpaid servants (volunteers).
