Call To Ministry

	This agreement to serve a pastor is made between Trinity reformed Church of Rockwood and the pastor.  The responsibilities of both parties are set forth in this agreement.

	The duties of the pastor are those, which are usually associated with the position in accordance with the practices outlined in the Holy Bible and the constitution and by-laws of Trinity Reformed Church of Rockwood.

Specific responsibilities as pastor include:
1.	Provide spiritual leadership to the members of the congregation through worship, leadership, preaching and administration of the Word and the Sacraments.
2.	Perform ministerial responsibilities for visiting the sick, consoling the bereaved, premarital consulting and generally responding to the needs of the congregation.  Visit each member of the congregation at least one time per year or more based upon request. Minister should recognize the need to visit new attendees as soon as possible within two weeks.
3.	Attend all official meetings of the congregation and consistory as requested.
4.	Work with the various organizations of the church, assisting them in program development and offer encouragement and inspiration.
5.	Set an example of good stewardship and moral character in personal living.
6.	Direct the conformation class.
7.	Administer the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion on a regular basis.  Provide opportunities for private Holy Communion as requested and provide Holy Communion for the shut-ins of the church on a regular basis.
8.	Participate in the youth programs and the Christian education programs.
9.	Advise the church and Sunday School staff and encourage development in their areas of responsibility.
10.	Submit monthly written reports to the consistory of activities, ministerial acts and program plans.
11.	The pastor is required to record baptisms, conformations, weddings, funerals, deaths and letters of transfer in and out.  This is to be done in a professional manner on said books for future reference.
12.	The Pastor shall be responsible to and should act on the recommendations of the consistory.
13.	Submit in writing prior to consistory meetings, all requests for extended vacations, personal and professional leave. All vacation, sick and personal time must be reported to the consistory President or V. President prior to its use, except in the event of an emergency. It is the pastor responsibility to arrange for a fill in minister for their absence.
14.	The pastor must fill out a daily accountability sheet.  These sheets can be reviewed by consistory at any time.
15.	The pastor is required to set up office hours for which he/she will be present at the church.

As part of this cooperative agreement, the members of trinity Reformed Church
Of Rockwood pledge support in the performance of the duties of the ministry.  This support shall include regular prayer, reflection on the Holy Bible and other assistance when necessary.  In addition, The Trinity Reformed Church of Rockwood pledges the following financial support so that the pastor can devote his/her full time to the ministry.

5.	Conduct special training projects for workers as needed to develop a strong core group of volunteer leaders in the preschool and children&#8217;s departments.

6.	Advise in the use of program materials, equipment, supplies, and space by preschool and children&#8217;s groups in all Church program organizations.  This includes budget recommendations for a viable preschool and children&#8217;s ministry.

7.	Keep informed of new trends in Christian ministry to children and their parents and seek ways to enrich all facets of ministry to preschoolers and children.

8.	Lead the recruitment, training, and allocation of human resources in cooperation with the Nominating Committee for an efficient ministry to the preschool and children&#8217;s departments.

9.	Plan, conduct, and evaluate a ministry of visitation by preschool and children&#8217;s leadership.

10.	Assist in the enlistment and training of extended session and salaried preschool workers; administer and supervise salaried preschool and nursery workers.

11.	Conduct systematic and periodic safety and cleanliness inspections of all space, equipment, and personnel associated with the preschool ministry.

Additionally, Grace&#8217;s students are missional, reaching out to the surrounding community and the broader world though mission trips and service projects.  We believe that today&#8217;s students need to be equipped with God&#8217;s Word in an exciting and dynamic way, helping them see His eternal truths as relevant to their modern context. 
Therefore, we are seeking a candidate within the following parameters:  

Education:  Required - BA/BS degree.     We desire a person with a Bachelors Degree in music or related field with 3 or more years experience leading and/or programming a worship ministry in a church setting.  The candidate must also have worked with students in a ministry context for 2 or more years. PURPOSE OF POSITION
This staff position is responsible for the Ministries of Children, Youth, and a potential Pre-School at Cheney Nazarene. Commensurate with this family focus, this position will provide supervision that includes the Children&#8217;s Director, Children&#8217;s Council, and future Youth Ministries. Also provides development of a Mentor/Tutor Ministry for teens and children.

This position will also encourage, mentor, coach and facilitate training for paid staff, lay leaders/teachers and volunteers. Position will also oversee ongoing strategic development of curriculum, programming, facility, budgets and planning. 

This position will work with the Senior Pastor to develop a Pre-School/ Daycare Ministry. In addition, help develop seminars to help parents become God-led parents, plus any other way we can reach out to the families of our community. Our church is on a mission for Christ. The position will be responsible for the leadership and oversight of these areas with a vision to expand them in the future.
